Solar and Storage for Flexible Factory Energy Management
This project was developed for a heat pump factory in Estonia, where electricity demand, solar generation and grid conditions need to be managed together.
The system includes a 2MWp solar PV array made up of 3,200 × 625Wp modules, together with three 1MWh containerized battery energy storage systems. Three 500kW hybrid inverter systems connect the solar, battery storage and grid-side operation.
During periods of solar generation, the system is designed to prioritize on-site consumption. Surplus electricity can be stored for later use or exported to the grid where local market conditions allow. The battery system also gives the site greater flexibility to schedule energy use around electricity prices.
